About Vuokko
Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi was one of the first textile print designers to work for Marimekko in the 1950's and led the design team for 7 years. Many of the patterns she created helped to shape the Marimekko legend and many of these are still in use by Marimekko today.

She left Marimekko in 1960 to set up her own equally legendary textile print and fashion company a few years later: Vuokko Oy (since 1964). Under her own name she went on to make stunning graphic designs and revolutionary clothing that breathed the Scandinavian modernistic design spirit more than any other person in the business. In Finland she is simple referred as the country's fashion queen.
