1960's Silk crepe Japanese Kimono, stunning Chrysanthemum flowers hand printed on a rich ivory crepe silk. The Kimono was bought in Kyoto from a private collection and is fully lined. A truely luxurious garment, hand printed and sewn, condition is good with some signs of it's 60+ years. Please see pictures.
Like the cherry blossom, the chrysanthemum is a symbol of Japan and is also used as the family crest of the Imperial family. The chrysanthemum pattern has been used in costumes as a symbol of long life to ward off evil spirits.
